About four or five months ago, I decided it was about time that I made a disappointing products video. Due to that video’s success, I decided that it was about time I made a follow-up where I talk about more products that I think have disappointed my preconceptions.
I know for a fact that I’ve mentioned the Benefit Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer stick but I had never mentioned this product in the first edition of this video series! For those of you who haven’t heard about how much I hate this product then here’s why; I bought this primer about a fortnight after it’s release after having heard loads of bloggers and vloggers rave on about how much they love it. So, I went to the Benefit counter and made my first Benefit purchase! For the first few days, I actually thought it was quite nice… until I realised that it made my make-up look literally tacky and just gloopy and horrible. Even after working out that you had to buff it into your skin, I still wasn’t very proud. I use it on days when I really need to use it but if I can avoid it, I will.
I also have two skincare products that I’ve been feeling slightly disappointed about. The first is the Witch Blemish Stick. I made this tiny purchase one day in Tesco’s when I was having a really bad acne day and I was on the hunt for something that could give my skin a bit of a pick-me-up. So, upon hearing several rave reviews around the blogging world when watching rather old skincare videos, I picked up the very inexpensive Witch Blemish Stick. You rub the (rather acidic) balm over your broken-out areas and leave it alone to let the magic happen… let’s just say that I’ve been waiting since I first bought this product for the magic to happen. This product has made break-outs even worse sometimes which really isn’t what I’m looking for! I’m pretty open minded about it though and I appreciate that some skincare products differ from person to person but coming from someone with rather oily and sensitive skin, this product was crap.
The other skincare product I’ve had a negative opinion on is the Caudalie Gentle Cleansing Milk. I bought this product on a bit of a whim one Sunday night when I realised how dangerously close I was to finishing the cleanser that I was loving (I’m yet to introduce a double-cleanse into my skincare routine due to my heavy-duty prescribed stuff for my acne – TMI?). I went straight over to FeelUnique and found this and just bought it knowing that it was very similar to Peaches and Clean by Soap & Glory (what I was using at the time) and that it was gentle so it wouldn’t interfere with my acne. Sadly, though, this cleanser was so gentle that I felt that it did nothing for me. I’d purchase the Peaches and Clean any day over this because it really just did nothing!
This post appears to be getting rather long so to save your boredom, check out the video to find out about the rest of the products that I haven’t mentioned so far. You can check out the video here.
