After the huge success of last month’s ‘The Beauty Bag’ post, I thought that it was about time to bring it back for it’s second installment exactly a month later. Today, I roped my sister into sharing what she likes to use on a day to day basis which is a fantastic blend of drugstore products for the drugstore minded ones out there. So, without any further ado, take it away Vic…
“To start my makeup routine, I like to apply Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation in 100 Ivory which I apply using the Topshop foundation brush. I like to use this foundation as I do a lot of sports and spend a lot of time outside. It gives full cover over all blemishes, red marks and scars. I then move on to apply concealer (if needed) which is by Witch. I have the stick concealer that contains tea tree to reduce the redness of spots as well as cover the blemish. I apply the concealer straight from the stick to my face and then use my Concealer Brush by Ecotools to blend it out. I have tried various concealers however this is the best one I have used. I use a stick as I have combination/oily skin however if you have dry skin, I recommend that you use a liquid concealer from past experience otherwise you end up with the concealer drying up on our skin and peeling off.
Next, I move on to eyes. Firstly, I take my eye;ash curlers and hold them on my lashes for about 8 – 10 seconds. To achieve maximum results use the curler on your eyelashes for 10 seconds. I recommend not using your eyelash curler daily as it can cause your eyelashes to stop growing as you can damage the hair follicle. After this, I apply my BenefitPowderflage Light Diffusing Powder Concealer for under eyes and face. I apply this under my eyes to bring out my eyes using my Concealer Brush by Ecotools. You can also use this to conceal bags under your eyes however I don’t have any (yet!) so I don’t need to worry. I then apply my Scandal Eyes Rockin’ Curves Mascara by Rimmel London to my lashes. To achieve the look I got in the photo, apply 2 coats of this mascara.
For eye shadow, I used my small No7 pallete with a brown shimmered eye shadow and a cream slightly shimmered eye shadow. I apply this with my Ecotools Eye Shadow Brush. I apply the cream coloured shadow to the brow bone to highlight and define my eyebrow area. I then apply the brown shimmery colour all over the lid starting from the inner corner to the outer corner.
I then apply my Sleek bronzer from the Sleek Face Form Contour and Blush palette in Medium using a Kabuki Brush from Ecotools right under my cheekbones to add depth to the face. I then blend it in using the Ecotools Slanted Powder brush making sure that I brush in one direction. I then take brush and apply the highlighting colour on the top of the cheekbone to define it. Make sure that when you use the bronzer, you don’t overdo it! Tap the brush on the back of your hand before you apply it because these Sleek powders are very pigmented!
