I’m always a sucker for a good hype and I don’t know why it took me such a long time to jump onto the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray hype. Other than the bad reviews on the extortionate price of this product (the handbag size pictured above will set you back by £19), pretty much everything else I’d heard about it was good. So, upon a recent visit to the Covent Garden Space NK, I grabbed a bottle to give it a whirl.
Initially, I wasn’t very wowed by the product at all; the supposed ‘volume’ I was getting from this product was pretty so-so and the nice and slick texture to my hair that I was expecting to get was nowhere to be seen. As soon as I thought this, I stumbled across Rebecca from Rouge Pout talking about how she’s also giving the product a whirl at the moment and was thinking the same thing. Regardless, I decided to keep on trying and hold back on reviewing it for a few more days to make sure that my judgement was just.
Funnily enough, my experience with the product in different circumstances has totally changed my opinion on it. I soon realised that it works best as a sort of dry shampoo when being used on second day hair that is starting to edge towards needing another wash. With a quick spritz of it all over your hair, volume and matte textures are added leaving you with some pretty nice looking hair that will stay like that for a good few hours. It definitely gives me the results that I’m looking for in a dry shampoo / texturizing spray hybrid which makes me a very happy bunny.
I didn’t think I’d be saying this but I’m more than happy to pay another £19 for a replacement handbag size and even the rather expensive £40 large size bottle price tag simply because it gives me exactly what I want it to give me. Have you tried the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray?
