After spending a while trying to find a nice serum in The Body Shop (I’d heard that lots of their serums were amazing) and after having a good chat with the lovely lady that works in my local Body Shop on Sunday afternoons, I settled for this one which is actually an overnight serum-in-oil.
Body-Shop-lady told me that the Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil did absolute magic to her skin; she applied a good amount over her face, neck and decolletage every evening and it left her skin feeling brighter and smoother making foundation application a whole lot easier. So, naturally, these facts along with some rather amazing tales of how good she thought it is combined compelled me to spend the rather low cost for this product. The first think I noticed after using it, though, is how uncomfortable it was to wear to bed. If you do end up going out and buying this, then make sure you apply it well in advance of actually getting into bed because I felt sticky and really greasy getting into bed at first, but the feeling goes away after around twenty minutes so don’t fret too much.
As for the results, it naturally broke me out after the first use – adding a mix of an oil and a replenishing serum into my skincare routine is naturally going to rock the boat with my oily/combo skin. After a few uses though, I did start to see how well it smoothed my skin out and my skin did feel a lot healthier both to the touch and actually in my system itself (do you know what I mean?)
The only big issue I have with this product is that I don’t really feel the need to pick it up anymore which is why it took so long for this blog post to actually happen considering I bought the bottle around four months ago. I would only use it a few times a week if I were you, but I honestly don’t think it’s as special as the sales lady made out (maybe I should have got the hint that she was trying to just sell it to me…) Regardless, I have a feeling that this is one of those products that different skins treat differently so maybe read around about it first but in my eyes, it really isn’t anything special.
Back on the hunt for the best facial oil and best serum I go. Sarah Chapman, I’m coming for ya…
